History Of The Public Art Initiative

In the late 2000’s, the Works In Progress initiative, now known as ArtScape 5, was launched as an annual public art exhibition. In 2017, under the guidance of Eric Lindstrom (SBL Architects) and the Arts Council, the initiative was transformed into one of the most successful public art exhibitions in North Carolina.

Artwork and sculptures are gifted to the Fayetteville community. In the past 5 years, the Arts Council, with support from private donors, have invested over $200,000 into the initiative, culminating over 60 pieces of artwork and sculptures that have been on display, 8 of which have become permanent artpieces purchased for the City of Fayetteville.
