America 250: Cumberland County's Legacy in Motion
Hosted at the Arts Council June 15-30
The America 250: Cumberland County's Legacy in Motion project is a traveling historical exhibit designed to educate and engage the public in exploring Cumberland County's rich and complex history. As Cumberland County prepares to commemorate America's 250th anniversary, this exhibit will serve as an accessible and immersive educational tool, offering historical insights that resonate across generations. The traveling panels will bring history to life in schools, cultural institutions, and community spaces, fostering a deeper connection between residents and their shared heritage.
This project complements the America 250 grant initiative led by the Cumberland County Public Library Service's Local & State History Department, expanding upon its work to illuminate key historical moments. The exhibit will present an inclusive narrative that recognizes not only major milestones but also the lived experiences of individuals and communities that have shaped the county's identity.”
