about the call

The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County (the Arts Council) announces a call for art for a national juried exhibition titled “Kindred Voices.” “Kindred Voices” is a celebration of depictions of Afrofuturism in visual art. While all artistic interpretations of Afrofurism are welcomed, we particularly encourage depictions that include science fiction elements to coincide with a community book reading of Octavia Butler’s seminal Afrofuturist work Kindred occurring during the exhibition.
