"Come Sunday" Jazz | The Matt White Quartet

Join us outdoors on Weymouth Center’s beautiful grounds for live jazz on the last Sunday of the month. Bring your own blanket, chairs, and a picnic, and enjoy our cash bar with mimosas, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages available. Coined for Duke Ellington’s classic “Come Sunday,” each jazz event features internationally renowned jazz artists who will perform their own rendition of Ellington’s masterpiece.

Our first performer in this six-event series is trumpeter, composer, educator, and technologist Dr. Matthew White. He is the Associate Professor, Chair of Jazz Studies, and Director of CSAM at the University of South Carolina University School of Music. and holds degrees from the University of North  Florida and The University of Miami. Matt has appeared on numerous albums, radio broadcasts, and television shows, performing and composing music for artists as varied as Rihanna, Becca Stevens, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Oscar DeLeon, Duranice…
